COT can help!

At The Table: A Conversation With Change Leaders

When was the last time you had a meaningful dialogue with others in your community about personal experiences related to poverty?

Poverty in our communities is linked to barriers like incarceration, addiction, mental illness, lack of education, and racial inequity. Beyond these barriers are human beings.

At the Table is an event designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and foster connections. Think Tank’s Change Leader Alliance is hosting its third annual At the Table, encouraging people from diverse backgrounds to converse and learn from each other in a supportive environment. This year, Think Tank is partnering with several organizations to host At the Table in locations across the nation, impacting up to 400 people.

Attendees can engage in 20-minute one-on-one or small group conversations with local Change Leaders. These speakers draw upon their personal experiences to help inform and improve their community.

This event aims to create a positive space for dialogue on challenging topics, break down stereotypes, and celebrate the strength and wisdom of so many who have lived experience in poverty.

Cost of Poverty Experience

The Cost of Poverty Experience is a 2.5 hour immersive experience that gives you the opportunity to gain a glimpse into the lives of families in our communities that face poverty everyday. COPE gives participants an opportunity to experience poverty firsthand through the eyes of real families. The experiential nature of this training helps organizations and communities more deeply understand the complexities of poverty, paving the way for addressing the issues of poverty more comprehensively.

SHIFT: Relationships Can Change How We Think About Poverty

We all want to see lasting change in our communities, but knowing how to get there is another story. SHIFT is an online course that will help you or your organization reimagine your approach to poverty and put practical tools in your toolbox to help your community thrive. Along the way, you’ll hear firsthand stories of those with lived experience, wrestle with questions together with your learning cohort, and work through short but powerful assessments and exercises.

This is a three week virtual course facilitated by COT's Director, Katy Wrona.
If your organization or church is interested in hosting a learning cohort, please email Katy at [email protected]
